Mockingjay Book review

Mockingjay,
Suzanne Collins

Katniss Everdeen, has survived, her home has been destroyed by the capitol. Gale has escaped to the “Destroyed” District 13, and Katniss’ family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the capitol and is being tortured. There are rebels and leaders in district thirteen and they are about to rebel against the capitol, and war is on the edge. Katniss takes her new place as a rebel in district thirteen. When Katniss decides to become a Mockingjay she asks for the immunity of Peeta, hunting rights for gale and her, and the right to kill President snow. President Coin gives her permission and becomes a Mockingjay. Katniss tries to save Peeta and district 13 is bombed. Peeta is being tortured every time Katniss shows something against the capitol. When Katniss stars in commercials, they show when there are interviews and a battle of the screen occurs.

Overall the book was really good and it was really dramatic. I loved the effort that Ms. Collins put into these three books and especially the last one. I really enjoyed it when the rebellion started. The book was really fast and action based. This reminds of the time when District 12 was bombed, and it seems like they hate Katniss because of the berries in the 74th annual hunger games. I loved it when Peeta and Katniss got married. The book was more violent then Catching Fire but was more dramatic and had more action. It seems like the rebellion before when District 13 was destroyed, except District 12. I think that before the books when the rebellion happened that there was someone like Katniss and took the leadership position to take down the capitol, and they were punished by there district being destroyed. I really loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who would like true violent stories

  2. Reading this over i thought "I think that I have heard this before", so i looked at the book, and I found that it is almost exactly the same. You need to use your own words! I like how you said what kind of reader would like this book. But i did find some sentences sort of confusing, read your work out loud and you will find those tricky sentences. Also mentioning the marriage was a big no no, the marriage is a big secrete in the book that shouldn't be given away in a review. Also i know that it was the third book in the season yet you still should of explained the characters again. To go with that point if i had not read the book before i wouldn't know what you meant by her being the "Mocking Jay", so again you need to describe what you you are talking about.
