Hi this is Curtis and today I am doing a post on theme for "The House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer. I think that the theme is equality and friendship. The main theme for me is equality because it shows you a dictator ship and it really puts you into the characters perspective, and makes you want to fix this country and allow equality. The second point is friendship because when Matt escapes into Aztlán the keepers grab him and take him into a factory where he meets friends and learns how important they are to your life. Then once he has moved to the plankton factory he makes new friends and just by making them they help him escape. I also think for equality that when you read it you feel what people in africa and dictated countries feel and what they have to live with, and I think Nancy Farmer tried to express it in a different way then making a commercial, and I really felt it. Also maybe a hidden message is that you need to treat everyone equal to be treated equal and to make friends because if you aren't equal you aren't going to make friends. The main message to me is treat people the way you want to be treated, cause then you make friends and everyone is equal. When Matt returns to Opium he makes the country equal and allows the United States and Aztlán to connect again.
That is all that i can get out of my brain for now. Stay tuned for more posts the due date is almost here so a lot of posts in a short time! Bye for now and see you next time!
